1. WHO WE ARE

Dispatches (published at dispatches.kilowatts.io) is operated by Kilowatts.io Limited (Company No. 10378895), registered in England and Wales. Contact: ben@kilowatts.io.

By subscribing (free or paid) you agree to these Terms and to Substack’s Terms of Use (https://substack.com/tos), which also apply to your use of the platform.

2. NATURE OF THE CONTENT

Dispatches publishes opinion, analysis and commentary on the UK electricity sector. All content is provided for informational and educational purposes only.

NOT FINANCIAL, TRADING OR INVESTMENT ADVICE. Nothing published in Dispatches constitutes financial, trading, investment, legal or professional advice, nor an invitation or recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, commodity, currency, derivative or financial instrument. You must not rely on the content for trading, investment or any financial decision-making, and you should obtain independent professional advice before acting on anything you read here.

Data cited in posts is drawn from public sources (including Elexon, NESO, LCCC, National Gas and ENTSO-E). We make no warranties as to the accuracy, completeness, reliability or timeliness of any data, and information may be delayed, incomplete or incorrect.

3. SUBSCRIPTIONS

- Free subscription — some posts are free and delivered by email.

- Paid subscription — gives access to subscriber-only posts and datasets. Prices are shown at checkout and charged in GBP.

- Group / Enterprise subscription — available to organisations on terms provided at the time of offer.

Payment is processed by Stripe via Substack. We never see or store your card details.

4. RENEWAL, CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS

Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price. You can cancel at any time via your Substack account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and gives you continued access until that date.

DIGITAL CONTENT WAIVER. By starting a paid subscription you acknowledge that you receive immediate access to digital content and you expressly consent to waive your 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 in respect of content already made available to you.

Refunds outside this are at our discretion. If you believe one is warranted, email ben@kilowatts.io.

5. ACCEPTABLE USE

You must not:

- Republish, resell or redistribute paid content without our written permission.

- Use the content to train machine-learning models without our written permission.

- Post unlawful, harassing, defamatory or spam content in comments or replies.

- Share access to paid content with people who are not covered by your subscription.

We may cancel any subscription we reasonably believe is being used in breach of these Terms, with a pro-rata refund of any unused paid portion at our discretion.

6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content in Dispatches — text, charts, datasets and methodology — is (c) Kilowatts.io Limited unless otherwise stated. You may quote short extracts with attribution and a link. Full republication requires written permission.

7. LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kilowatts.io Limited has no liability whatsoever for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or exemplary loss — including financial loss, trading loss, missed opportunity or loss of data — arising from your use of, or reliance on, content published in Dispatches. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

8. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, except where UK statutory consumer protections grant you a right to bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction.

9. CHANGES

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified via a post or email. Continued use of Dispatches after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
