3000 Characters isn’t Enough

Time and time again, I find myself hitting the 3000 character limit on LinkedIn.

While I try to keep my writing as brief as possible (you’re all busy people), that often means I can’t caveat or explain everything.

Among my (near 11,000!) followers, I’ve also had enough people comment or DM me privately now that I have to consider whether I should dedicate more time to my writing. People I speak to are often surprised when I tell them how little of my time I spend on LinkedIn Posts; many of them basically document some public data I’m exploring for a consulting client. It’s work I really enjoy; but there comes a point when I often wonder if in order to dedicate more time to it, at the expense of other work, I should start to monetise it.

So, I’m going to give Substack a try → and while I’ll continue to post summaries and links from LinkedIn, you can follow me directly here.
